01 / Material definition

Identify the required material precisely. If a parameter is undecided, mark it as open for discussion rather than selecting a value without a design basis.

• Material family and manufacturer grade, if specified
• Paper type and resin system, where required
• Cell geometry and nominal cell size
• Nominal density and permitted tolerance
• Applicable material specification and revision

02 / Dimensions and part geometry

Distinguish overall panel thickness from bare core thickness. On a drawing, show the ribbon direction and any features that must align with it.

• Sheet dimensions: L × W × T, with units
• Thickness and dimensional tolerances
• Ribbon direction and cutting orientation
• Contours, cut-outs and required surface condition
• Skins, adhesive, inserts and edge closeouts, for panels

03 / Performance and documentation

State the acceptance criteria and test conditions. If the application requires approval, identify the governing requirements explicitly.

• Compression and L/W shear requirements
• Temperature, moisture and other environmental conditions
• Fire or other application-specific test requirements
• Required certificates, batch traceability and inspection records
• Drawing number, revision and agreed acceptance criteria

04 / Quantity and project timing

• Trial quantity and expected production quantities
• Requested delivery timing and destination
• Packaging or handling requirements
• Contact person and technical questions to resolve
